Good luck Ben!

Bath athlete Ben Rushgrove has been given a fitting send-off from the Bath Riverside team. Crest Nicholson Regeneration Managing Director, Debbie Aplin, presented Ben with a good luck card at Bath Riverside, ahead of his quest for Paralympic glory at London 2012. The 100m sprint specialist who was born and raised in Bath, is sponsored by award-winning developer Crest Nicholson Regeneration.
Speaking at the presentation, Ben said “I’m so grateful to Crest Nicholson for recognising my potential and sponsoring me to compete in London 2012. It is a unique honour to be able to compete in the Paralympics on home soil, and Crest’s financial assistance has helped me cover expenses for new kit and for travel expenses to training camps and for the competition itself. It would be great to bring a medal back to Bath in September.”
Ben’s past form certainly suggests that he is in with a good chance of success in London. He won silver in the Beijing games in 2008 and has broken the European Record at 100m and the World Record at 200m.
Debbie Aplin said “We are delighted to be sponsoring Ben and wish him all the very best for London 2012. As the developer behind the biggest regeneration scheme in Bath for many years, it seems fitting that we support a Bath-born athlete. I look forward to being at the Olympic stadium in person to cheer Ben on. It would be great for Ben to have a London 2012 medal with him when he next visits Bath Riverside!”
