A sustainable transport roadshow is being held at Bath’s newest residential quarter in June and July.
The roadshow, organised by Bath and North East Somerset, Transport West and Crest Nicholson provide a chance for residents to talk to a travel advisor and find out how best to travel by sustainable modes.
Christine Warren, Senior Transportation Planner for Bath & North East Somerset Council said, “Bath Riverside, with its attractive and accessible central location close to bus and rail links, is ideally located for residents to travel using the full spectrum of sustainable modes which are available.”
“We are pleased to be working with Crest Nicholson to raise awareness of these travel options among residents and to offer them the opportunity to try public transport using free ‘taster’ tickets, to join the expanding Bath City Car Club and to receive generous discounts when purchasing bicycles and equipment.”
Debbie Aplin, Managing Director of Crest Nicholson Regeneration added, “Sustainable transport is an extremely important aspect of modern living, and we’re pleased to be able offer our support to this initiative which will hopefully encourage people to carefully consider their travel options. To this end, we have agreed with the local bike shop, “John’s Bikes” to assist with our residents voucher scheme and give general advice on cycling and bike safety.”
Advisors will be stationed near the crane at the entrance to Bath Riverside on 1st June from 10am-4pm, 5th June 3.30pm-8pm and 6th July 10am to 4pm.
